Port Overview
Shifda is the main international port of Tukastan. The present cargo handling capacity of Tukastani is 7 million tons per year. Tukastan port however suffers from congestion in the quays. Moreover, its cargo handling facilities are worn out and in poor condition.
Shifda is managed through the Shifda Port Authority. The port offers a short approach channel to provide safe navigation up to 45,000 DWT tankers, modern container vessels, bulk carriers and general cargo ships. The port has multipurpose cargo berths including 1 Container Terminal and 1 silo. Anchorage is outer and inner roads, depth water 13.0 m.
