 4 lane Jaleshwor Road to Janakpur is operational. The main objective of this road is to connect the capital city, Kathmandu with the Eastern Terai and hence linking to neighbouring cities in India.

The Customs service and procedure is closed on Jestha 15 (28 or 29 April every year) on account of the New Fiscal Budget Announcement but the services for passengers and immigration remain to continue.
