3.1 Tuvalu Fuel
Fuel Overview
Pacific Energy acquired BP’s assets in 2010 and now supplies 85% of Tuvalu’s fuel. They have 1 depot, 9 retail fuel stations and a total storage capacity of 0.8 million litres. They are also the airport fuel supplier.
Two other smaller suppliers import fuel directly for sale.
On Funafuti fuel is delivered to retail outlets by small tanker trailer (pictured below).
Delivery to the outer islands uses 200L steel drums involving transference from larger ship to small boats that are able to access the beaches.

Note: The Tuvalu Fuel Supply Company is a small operation located adjacent to the airstrip that has equipment to refuel planes with Jet A-1 supplied by Pacific Energy.

Fuel Transportation
