​​Overview 

Rasuwa Customs Office in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, Ward no- 2, Rasuwa district, an important historical and archaeological site of Nepal, was established in 2013 B.S. This customs office in Rasuwagadi, is aimed at supporting the barter trade to fulfil the daily life of the residents of Rasuwa district and the people of Kerung region of Tibet through barter. It has a passenger section office near Miteri Bridge (China & Nepal Border point) for passenger and immigration checkpoints.  

Rasuwagadi Customs Office, Rasuwa is a major road-linked border crossing with China and is rated no.8th of 27 border crossings in terms of import share, 1.87% of total country import share value of mid-July 2022 Mid-July 2023.

The construction of a service building near Miteri Bridge to support daily operations, and the management of facilities such as health decks, have contributed to increased traffic and the movement of truck containers through Miteri Bridge for the import and export of goods...​

Generally, 3 days during Dashain (Nepal national festival, 3 days for Tihar, 1 day for Chhat pooja, and 1 day Holi) and up to another 7 days/year at the Government’s discretion. The Customs procedure is closed on Jesth 15 (28 or 29 April every year) on account of New Fiscal Budget Announcement Day.

Potential delays or restrictions: Road construction work may cause delays in vehicle movement. And Lab testing may delay the clearance process which needs time for new imported items through these customs only.

Other Relevant Information  

Rasuwagadi ICD is under construction. Because of the ongoing construction of a dry port in Bhotekoshi Bagar of Timure, private hotels in Timure and Ghattekhola areas, and the development of buildings for the Nepal Army, Armed Police, Force, and Nepal Police have enhanced the beauty of the region from Timure to Rasuwagadhi. The face of Timure, Ghattekhola, and Rasuwagadhi is gradually changing with development programs such as the infrastructure development plan of the federal, state, and local governments, and the support plan for the residents affected by the 111 MW Rasuwagadhi hydropower project, and they are hopeful that all kinds of structures will be built in the next two/four years.
