• Generally, good accommodation is available wherever you go in the country
• Damascus can become very expensive due to very high occupancy rates
• This is mainly being attributed to the huge Iraqi community that arrived after 2003
• Rates for a single room at four and five star hotels vary from US$180 to over US$500
