Turkey in total has 1200 km of Waterways.

  • Major seaports: Aliaga, Ambarli, Diliskelesi, Eregli, Izmir, Kocaeli (Izmit), Mersin (Icel), Limani, Yarimca

  • Container ports: Ambarli (2,121,549), Mersin (Icel) (1,126,866)

  • LNG Terminals: Izmir Aliaga, Marmara Ereglisi

Company Information

IDO  company is founded on 1987 and is the biggest waterway company in Turkey for domestic destinations. The company was privatized in 2011, operates a total of 16 lines with a fleet of 24 Sea Buses, 9 Fast Ferries and 18 Conventional Ferries within the Marmara Sea, with most of its ports in Istanbul (European & Asian parts).
The largest operated destinations are from Istanbul to Yalova and Bursa and vice-versa.

Izdeniz- is a company owned by the government (city of Izmir), it’s the 2nd biggest company for domestic destinations and is operating only in Izmir and Egeian Sea.

Akgunler Denizcilik
Is private owned company and has 3 sea buses, 2 roro and 1 roro / passenger ships. Akgünler Denizcilik is the largest passenger and cargo carrying capacity company in the southern part of Turkey which operates from the port of Mersin and Tasucu.
All vessels are equipped with International Safety Management Certificate (ISMC) and the International Ship and Safety Certificate (ISPSC).
