Libya’s logistics infrastructure has suffered during the period of conflict and instability over the last 8 years; nevertheless, there is still decent infrastructure in place in the major cities, including Tripoli, Misratah, Benghazi, etc.
The government plans to improve infrastructure in Libya, and are currently working on:
- Plans for a new railway network. The network is still under construction, and there has been little progress in the last 5 years due to financial issues and security concerns.
- Plans for a large power capacity expansion programme. This is also facing similar obstacles to those mentioned above.
Due to the current absence of stability there is no investment in infrastructure by foreign or private investors.
