Only one airline, Myanma Airways, is flying once a week to Mawlamyine airport, on Mondays, via the route Yangon-Mawlamyine-Kawthaung.
There is a plan to extend the runway in 2015 depending on available budget. Currently the ATR-72 is the maximum size airplane that can land. Myanma Airways staff is responsible for cargo handling. There is no Jet A1 fuel storage capacity at Mawlamyine airport. The Jet A1 fuel is stored in drums at the airport and the airplanes are filled with a handpump. Myanma Petroleum Product Enterprise (MPPE) supplies the fuel. Their office and fuel jetty is located at Mu Pon Ward, Mawlamyine, a 20 minutes drive from the airport.
