It is a domestic airport that serves as the alternative access point to South Aceh district and is operated by the Unit Penyelenggara Bandar Udara (UPBU), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Transportation.
Since January 2019, there are no commercial flights scheduled in this airport due to low load factor from and to the destination. The airport operates from 23:00 – 06.00 UTC (07:00 – 14:00 WIB) for air traffic movements.
