Port Overview
The Port of Masbate is the only national port of the island province of Masbate. The province has has cattle, coconut, mining and fishing for its main industries which attract traders from Manila, Cebu, Bicol mainland and Panay provinces. Its port exclusively handles containerized cargoes among the Bicol terminals, aside from palletized, bulk and breakbulk commodities. Its fastcraft operation connects Bicol mainland via the port of Pilar in Sorsogon. The main pier for ocean vessels is 210 m long, with an alongside depth of 12.1 m and a width of 10 m. Present port facilities can only accommodate 1 vessel at a time due to draft limitation and physical length of wharf. The largest vessel that can be accommodated is 300 m in length, with a maximum draft of 12 m.
