Hodeidah is the fourth largest city in Yemen, with a population of 400,000 people, and is the centre of Al Hudaydah Governorate
Situated on the Red Sea, it is an important port, exporting coffee, cotton, dates and hides
Hodeidah city centre is 4kms from the port, and is in the centre of the northern governorates. It is connected by a transport network with the major cities

General Cargo Handling Berths

  • Berths 1 and 2 are used for discharge of bulk oils; there are petroleum and vegetable oil storage plants behind these quays, discharging through fixed pipes. These berths are also used for general cargos when there are no vessels discharging oils.
  • Berths 3, 4 and 5 are most usually dedicated to general cargo.
  • Berths 6, 7 and 8 are dedicated to containerized cargos.
  • There are also mooring dolphins for discharge of petroleum products, a maintenance slipway and shallow water jetties for smaller boats.
