Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT)  Storage Assessment

There are no bonded warehouses in Kupang area except the ones belong to BULOG (Indonesian Bureau for Logistics that primarily manages rice commodities).  Commercial warehouses are located around the Osmok area (close to the seaport).   However, these warehouses were built by local traders for their own use and are not available for rent.  As there is no designated industrial zone rented warehouses are difficult to find.

Commercial Storage

The commercial sector has warehouses from small warehouses to large fabricated warehouses for specific cargo.  Primarily warehouses are built by owner/operators for their own purpose, therefore at the time of the assessment there was no warehouses available for rental.

Storage Used by Humanitarian Organizations

Currently WFP Kupang sub office rents a warehouse (consisting of two building namely Bumi Indah A & Bumi Indah K) in the Osmok area called Gudang Bumi Indah.

Cold Chain

Cold chain facilities are available at Tenau Port in Kupang with capacity for 7 TEU’s to be plugged in to the system.
