There are extremely limited storage facilities available in Sofifi, located in Halmahera island, the capital of North Maluku, but there are plenty of empty yards available everywhere, including inside the Kao Airport perimeter. Meanwhile, for Ternate city, located in Ternate island (former capital of North Maluku), there are several warehouses available.

Commercial Storage 

Commercial warehouses are located arround the Ahmad Yani Port and Tobelo. These warehouses were generally built by commercial companies for their internal requirements and are rarely available for rent.

Storage Used by Humanitarian Organizations 

The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) has storage facilities in North Maluku Province.

Public Sector Storage 

Public sector storage facilities are owned by government agencies such as the National Logistics Agency (BULOG), Social Office, etc. 

BULOG has four warehouses within North Maluku Province, that can be rented depending on space availability. For utilisation or renting purposes, an official request should be made, addressed to the Head of BULOG at Provincial levels in North Maluku Province. 

BULOG warehouses are located in three different locations throughout North Maluku: 

1. GBB Salahuddin covering Ternate, Tidore, South Halmahera, Sula Island, Kaliabu, East Halmahera and Central of Halmahera districts. 

1. GBB Maliaro covering Ternate, Tidore, Halmahera selatan, Kep. Sula, Kab, Kaliabu, Halmahera timur and Halmahera tengah districts. 

1. GBB Gamsungi covering South Halmahera and Morotai districts

Cold Chain 

There are no cold chain facilities in North Maluku Province.
