Overview

This border crossing is on Nepal’s southern border with India across from Barhani Bazar. The movement of Indian and Nepalese nationals across the border is unrestricted; however, there is a customs checkpoint for goods. Goods bound for Dang and Arcghakhanchi cross here. Krishnanagar connects by road to the east – west Mahendra Highway. There are two routes from the border point: to Butwal and to Bhairahawa. The roads are good but single lane in places. Because of severe congestion at other border points during the fuel blockade, there has been a significant increase in traffic through this point. 

Customs Clearance

Customs uses a sophisticated CCTV surveillance system which has a control room in the Customs office at Krishnanagar, but is monitored online by HQ in Kathmandu.
