Airport Overview

Ndola International Airport is situated in the Copperbelt Province in northern Zambia, in the city of Ndola, near the international border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is situated approximately 272 kilometers (169 mi), by air, north of Lusaka International Airport (the largest airport in Zambia). It is situated 1,270 meters (4,170 ft) above sea level.  It has two parallel runways, one of concrete, measuring 2515 meters (8250 ft) and the other of asphalt, measuring 1219 meters (4000 ft) in length.

Flying doctor service operates from the airport utilizing a hanger and an apron area. FAO and IFAD have an International Red Locust Control operation that works from the airport as well.

A new airport is under construction in Ndola to the northwest of the city and is expected to be completed and operational by May 2021, which will be called Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport.
