Airport Overview

Jiri Airport  is an airport serving the municipalities of Jiri, Bhimeshowr of Dolakha district in the north-eastern  region of Bagmati Province of Nepal. It is 57 km east of District HQ at Charikot, Dolakha. It can be accessed via blacktopped F32 and then Jiri Khadichaur Local Road.   

The airport served as the gateway to Mount Everest when it opened in 1979. It is not in operation, but can be reactivated during emergencies as authorized by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
