Democratic Republic of Congo - 2.2.2 Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Goma International Airport
Home

Airport Overview

Goma International Airport plays a key role as the main air hub for East Congo. In the last few years, the airport’s safety has been upgraded with an extension of the runway and the building of a new tower control (PASAG projects). However, the airport remains vulnerable with the active volcano Nyiragongo located about 20 km from Goma (last eruption in May 2021).

FUEL SERVICES CHARGES

The cost of importing jet fuel has increased recently and the country faced shortage in September 2022. The Ministry of Hydrocarbons has implemented a contingency plan that includes rationing fuel until the arrival of new stocks. Due to this context, prices are fluctuating and the current fuel price list is available on the website of the Ministry of Economy here.
