The Directorate General of Civil Aviation shall perform the following functions:

  • Preparing the formulation of policies of the Ministry of Transportation on the field of air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Implementing policies on air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Preparing standardization, norms, guidance, criteria, system and procedures for air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation:

  • Performing certification and/or licensing on air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Supervising (in the sense of monitoring and assessment) the implementation of policies on air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Controlling (in the sense of providing directives, guidance, technical guidance on the implementation of policies in air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Law enforcement/corrective actions with respect to the implementation of policies in air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Evaluating and reporting the implementation of policies in air transportation, airports, flight security, air navigation, aircraft airworthiness and operation;

  • Carrying out administrative affairs on the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Airport Operations

PT. Angkasa Pura (Sanskrit for Sky City) is a state enterprise of the Indonesian Department of Transport that is responsible for the management of airports and air traffic services in Indonesia and is made up of two parts: PT. Angkasa Pura I & PT Angkasa Pura II.

A.   Main Tasks & Functions Air Side

  • Regulate the movement of aircrafts

  • Regulate the entry of aircraft into and out of aprons

  • Ensuring the safety and speed of movements

  • Setting the standard aircraft parking allocations

  • Conducting setting the engine run-up, aircraft towing, monitor start-up clearance

  • Provide marshaled follow me service

  • Provide / disseminate information to the operators

  • Ensure cleanliness apron

  • Provide support and assistance to aircraft in a state of emergency

B.   Main Tasks & Functions Land Side

  • Terminal Services courtyard parking

  • Terminal Facilities Services

  • Airport Information services which include:

  • Service Customers Service Centre (CSC),

C.   Main Tasks & Functions Rescue and Fire Aviation Accidents (PKP-PK)

  • Provide assistance in the event of accidents

  • Implement fire prevention at the airport and surrounding

D.   Main Tasks and Functions Airport Security

  • Aviation Security (AVSEC): Security

  • Non Avsec: Security in the Public Area (PA)
