Port Overview
The Port of Cuyo on the west coast of Cuyo Island, the largest town in the Cuyo Island group. Buoys mark the north and south entrance points to the port. The entrance channel at the buoys is 7.3 m deep and 160 m wide. Depths decrease to 1.5 m off a pier. There are two piers at Cuyo. The stone mole, about 240 m long, has a reported depth of 2.1 m off its head. The stone causeway extends almost 640 m offshore, with its outer 40 m submerged 0.3 m below water. The remaining part of the causeway is in disrepair and used only by small boats. Small vessels can anchor about 800 m of the pier, in 7.3 m, or closer in if draft will allow.
During the Southwest Monsoon (May to September), vessels can anchor closer off the reef that fringes the north side of Bisucay Island. Anchorage can also be taken during southwest storms in the bay on the southeast side of Cuyo Island.
