Port Overview
Port of Jolo is the main port of the island of Sulu but it is a very small port. This port is very significant to the people of Sulu, particularly those involve in commerce and considered one of the busiest ports in Western Mindanao. The Port of Jolo has been one of the earliest hubs for trade and commerce in the region even before the Spanish invasion. Sulu Region has been the gateway of trading from the country towards Java, Borneo, Celebes, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.
Among the shipping companies present in the Port are Aleson Shipping Lines, Montenegro Shipping Lines, Sing Shipping Lines, SRN Fast crafts and Theresian Star Shipping Lines. The port is managed by the BARMM Regional Economic Zone Authority.
