Port Overview

Goods supply to Southeast Sulawesi Province mainly comes from Surabaya, through sea transportation to Kendari City, which then being distributed within Kendari City and surrounding sub-districts, and small part of it being distributed to smaller island by boats. Some goods also come from Makassar City by a multi-modal transportation (loaded into the truck, then transferred by Ferry, and continued with the truck till Kendari City). Kendari Port is classified as Port Class II. It is a conventional port for multi-purposes. The Port is operated by PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia IV Kendari Branch, with yearly traffic around 74,000 containers and 558,000 passengers (2014 figures). The port has 270 M length of Docking Area and 24,252 M² of Container Yard.
