Generic Information

Brinland, a Democratic Republic, located in Southeast Asia, has a population of approximately 20.1 million people. Bordered by the Main Sea, Southland, Westland, and Northland, Brinland covers an area of approximately 326,594 km2 and is comprised of a variety of geographical areas including the Brinland mountains, forests, hills, and plains. Brinland is organized into five provinces (Amethyst, Bronze, Cobalt, Diamond, and Emerald). The Brinland population is made up of several ethnic groups, including the Brinish (65%), Banaiashi (17%), Beni (12%), and others, and the majority of the population practices Christianity (45.3%) or Islam (30.4%). Due to the composition of population, Brinlandese, the native tongue of the Brinish, is the most widely spoken language across Brinland, although ancient tribal languages are also spoken. Brinland’s capital city, Brindisi, is located in Emerald Province.

The official currency of Brinland is the Brinland Rupee.  The country’s economy is largely dependent on agriculture (including cotton, pulses, jute, sugarcane, tobacco, and grains) and gem and mineral production. Brinland was ranked 139 out of 187 countries in the 2011 UNDP Human Development Index, and nearly one-third of the population lives under the national poverty line. The unemployment rate in Brinland is 46% and approximately 18% of the population is considered food-insecure, with high levels of stunting reported. Life expectancy is an average of 67.52 years and poor sanitation and disproportional rates of child and maternal mortality rates continue to be problems in Brinland.
