Overview 

Gaur Customs is the main customs office in the Rautahat district. Gaur is a minor border crossing, rated no.7 of 27 border crossings in terms of import share, 0.07% of the total country import share value during July 2022 - June 2023. Besides the Gaur customs office, there are 5 other entry points in the district; Bangkul, Brahmapuri, Aurahiya, Rampur Khap, and Mathiya, which are even smaller and not listed separately in the Nepal customs statistics.

National Holidays 

 

Generally, 3 days during Dashain (Nepal national festival, 3 days for Tihar, 1 day for Chhat pooja and Holi-1) and up to another 7 days / year at Government’s discretion. The Customs procedure is closed on Jestha 15 (28 or 29 April every year) on account of New Fiscal Budget Announcement but the services for passenger and immigration remains continue.

Private cars are not provided the separate lane. The road is double-lane; lane for incoming vehicle and an adjacent lane for outgoing vehicles. Daily 10 to 12 trucks passes through this checkpoint.  

 

The parking area is under construction in a 2675.61 Sqm area.

Other Relevant Information 

There is no parking space or yard for the trucks withheld for further inspection purposes. There are no warehouses, but 4 small rooms are present for storage purposes. Road condition to the border crossing point from India is double lane and is in good condition also the road leading away from the border point into the country is double lane and is blacktopped. The main import goods from this border point are mainly raw sugar, coal, marble tiles, clothes, and fancy goods items and export goods are PVC pipes.
