Transport Capacity at Mill

  •  The milling company has its own fleet but also use commercial trucks for delivery

Additional Notes

  •  The milling company operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In the pipeline there are interesting projects such as upgrading the actual plants and building a second plant in addition to building silos with capacity of 16,000 MT. The milling company has exported to WFP office in Burkina Faso in 2020 and is partner of WFP Ghana since 2008.

  •

  • Close coordination with the Food Science Department at KNUST. The milling company is connected to the national grid for electricity but also has a 2 Megawatts solar plant on site and 1650 watts diesel generators.

  •

  • The trend is to buy about 80% of the grains during the harvest season when the prices are low. The idea is to buy most during the minor season when the quality is better and top up quantity during the major season where the quality is not consistent.

  • There are two farming seasons i.e. major (starts in March) and minor( starts in July) however the grains are of better quality in the minor season since the rains are limited at that time.
