Myeik airport is located about 3km from downtown Myeik. There are four domestic airlines operating: Myanma Airways and Golden Myanmar airlines, Man Yanandorpone, Sun Far. During the rainy season these airlines fly 3 times per week, during the dry season these airlines fly to North, upper Myanmar for tourists. Myanma airlines has a daily flight Yangon-Myeik.
The airport is shared with Myanmar military air force, located across the runway. The control tower was built in 2011 and the terminal in 2012. The air force is constructing a new concrete taxi way, for military use, across the runway. Maximum take-off weight of aircraft is 150,000 pounds. Maximum size aircraft that can land is a Boeing 737-200.

There is no cargo handling equipment available. Cargo handling is done by Myanma Airways, they have four trolleys. The other airlines have a few more trolleys.

Security is handled by the military air force together with Myanmar police. The police is responsible for the civilian terminal. There is a CCTV system with nine camera’s, one X-ray machine for luggage, and one walk-through metal detector.

Fuel Services Charges

Jet-A1 is available from MPPE who have a compound located inside the airport premises. MPPE has two tanker trucks of 7274 litres (1600 Gal ) capacity each. The MPPE facility has one existing storage tank, and is constructing a new tank of 45,460 litres (10,000 Gal) storage capacity. They have no Avgas available.

Landing fees depend on take-off weight. Up to 5,000kg is 149 USD, 5,000-10,000 Kg is 377 USD, charged by Civil Aviation office. The landing charges are collected by the head office in Yangon, but the landings fees of foreign aircraft will be collected locally.
