Airport Overview
Maroantsetra aerodrome is under the supervision of ADEMA but managed locally by AUTOMAD AIRPORTS.
There are 2 flights per week (Monday and Friday) ex Antananarivo.
However, it is possible to use the airport with private companies.
It is open 7/7 from 5h30 am to 5h45 pm and 10 staffs are working there including AFIS Officer.
Landing has to be done visually, but airport staff are able to communicate with aircrafts via HF radios to give basic information such as weather, air traffic, and possible obstacle on the airstrip.
It’s mandatory to make a lap for any aircraft not equipped with radio. Biggest aircraft authorised is the ATR 72-500 (30t max, up to 70 passengers)
