Airport Overview

The Fianarantsoa airport is under the supervision of ADEMA (Aéroports de Madagascar). There are no regular flights anymore, but possibility to land with a private plane.Terminal building and other facilities are in good condition, there is a governmental weather information service in the same compound giving daily information to the ACM. It is open 7/7 from 6am to 6pm and 10 staffs are working there including 2 AFIS agents a fire fighting department (1 staff). Even if the landing has to be done visually, airport staff are able to communicate with aircrafts via VHF radios to give AFIS basic information such as weather, air traffic, possible obstacle on the airstrip,

There is around 1 flight a day and main company working there are MAF, Aéromarine, MTA, and TOA. The biggest aircraft authorised are the ATR 42 (15t max, up to 48 passengers).
