Port Overview
The Yurimaguas Port Terminal is under the administration of COPAM - CONCESIONARIA PUERTO AMAZONAS S.A. It is located in the town of Yurimaguas, district of the same name, Alto Amazonas province, Loreto department. It is located at an altitude that oscillates below 200 meters above sea level. The Yurimaguas Port Terminal is located as the point of modal exchange of products between the areas of the cities of Chiclayo and Piura and the Amazon region, specifically the city of Iquitos. Industrial products and food, among others, are transported from Chiclayo and Piura by road to the Yurimaguas Port Terminal, to be shipped and transported by river to Iquitos. Likewise, from Iquitos, products such as sawn wood, rubber, jute and imported goods leave for Yurimaguas, to later be transported by truck to Chiclayo and Piura.
The cargo moved is mainly cabotage, of the fractional type. The movement of goods registered in Yurimaguas will be carried out through the Yurimaguas Port Terminal. It does not include the liquid cargo corresponding to hydrocarbons that is mobilized at the PETROPERU pier. The concession of the New Yurimaguas Port Terminal - Nueva Reforma is co-financed in nature and for a term of 30 years.
